Storage Tips for Lasagna Dip

If you’re lucky enough to have leftovers (it’s so good, you might not!), here’s how to store your Lasagna Dip and lasagna chips to keep them fresh:

For the Lasagna Dip

  • Refrigeration:
    • Allow the dip to cool completely before transferring it to an airtight container.
    • Store in the refrigerator for up to 3-4 days.
  • Reheating:
    • For individual portions, microwave on medium power in 30-second intervals until warmed through.
    • For larger amounts, reheat in an oven-safe dish at 350°F for 15-20 minutes, or until heated thoroughly. Cover with foil to prevent the cheese from over-browning.
  • Freezing (Optional):
    • Transfer the cooled dip to a freezer-safe container. Freeze for up to 3 months.
    • Thaw overnight in the refrigerator before reheating in the oven.

For the Lasagna Chips

  • Refrigeration:
    • Lasagna chips are best stored at room temperature. If you must refrigerate them, place them in an airtight container lined with paper towels to absorb moisture.
  • Room Temperature Storage:
    • Keep chips in an airtight container or zip-top bag at room temperature for up to 2 days.
  • Re-Crisping:
    • If the chips lose their crunch, reheat them in the oven at 350°F for 5-7 minutes.

Pro Tip

To keep everything tasting fresh, store the dip and chips separately. Reheat the dip and crisp the chips just before serving for the best texture and flavor.

Lasagna Chips & Dip

Yield: 6-8
Prep Time: 15 minutes
Cook Time: 45 minutes
Total Time: 1 hour

Ingredients

For the dip

  • 1 lb ground beef or sausage
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 24 oz marinara
  • 8 oz low-moisture mozzarella, shredded
  • 1 cup whole milk ricotta cheese
  • 1/3 cup parmesan cheese
  • salt and pepper

For the chips

  • 8-10 lasagna sheets
  • 2 tbsps olive oil
  • 2-3 tbsps freshly grated parmesan
  • Garlic powder
  • Oregano
  • Salt and pepper

Instructions

    1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook lasagna sheets 1 minute shy of al dente per cooking instructions. Coat baking sheet with olive oil.
    2. Drain pasta and lay out on baking sheet, flip to coat in olive oil. Allow to cool.
    3. Preheat oven 375°F. In a cast-iron pan (or frying pan) over medium heat, sauté ground beef until cooked through, drain fat. Return to stove, season with salt and pepper then add minced garlic. Cook additional 1-2 minutes until fragrant.  Stir in marinara. Remove from heat.
    4. Transfer beef sauce to oven-safe dish if one was not used for cooking beef. Dollop ricotta cheese throughout top. Sprinkle mozzarella and parmesan. Bake for 25-30 minutes, until cheese is melted.
    5. Meanwhile, prepare the chips by using kitchen shears or knife into desired size/shape. Arrange in single layer in baking sheet. Sprinkle top with garlic powder, oregano and parmesan cheese. Bake for 10-15 minutes until desired doneness, keep a close eye to make sure they don’t burn. A light golden color results in the perfect crunch. Serve along the lasagna dip and enjoy!
